Yoga in Real Estate

“You cannot begin to know the spiritual until you control the physical.”  I like that thought. This is a quote from the author, Bikram Choudhury.
It’s true for Real Estate careers also.  You cannot begin to appreciate the amazing opportunity a Real Estate career offers you until you control the physical.  In a Real Estate career what is the physical?

In Yoga the physical is what you do with your body.  And as you control your body, as you work and prove to yourself that your body can do things it couldn’t previously do.  You begin to trust that hard work, persistence, focus on quality, commitment and consistency lead to results you thought impossible.

Then, as a delightfully surprising and unexpected by product you sleep better, digest better, think more clearly.  Then you wonder if these wonderful by products are the physical result of the Yoga or the spiritual.  Physical or spiritual doesn’t really matter.  It is the hard work, persistence, and focus on quality, commitment and consistency that leads to a mental and emotional breakthrough in confidence, self esteem, and peace of mind.

In your Real Estate career the physical is, well, the physical.  It is making calls to follow up on leads, making appointments, conducting appointments, showing, presenting offers, staying in touch with Sellers and managing your results.  This is only a small number of the physical parts of the business that leads to the spiritual breakthrough.

It is not enough to just do the physical statically, the same way every day.  You have to work on continuous learning and improvement.  You need to work with the best Brokers, mentors and coaches that motivate, inspire and guide you and provide unconditional support of your efforts.  I call it Intelligent Unconditional Support.

That is precisely what we work hard to bring to our Clients.  The unconditional belief in the Client along with the ability to teach them the best ways to plan, prospect, manage leads, present, service, market, build a team, use technology, and achieve both a business they love and a life they live with confidence and passion.
