It was a privilege to have lunch with NAR President McMillan recently at a State convention.  At the beginning of his remarks he said, “Your speaker (Rich Levin) was so motivating he had me want to get up and cheer.”  That still puts a smile on my face.

President McMillan has an excellent perspective on the market.  He and his staff at NAR have been lobbying hard for Real Estate reform in the stimulus legislation.  Whereas I was initially disappointed in the changes, he pointed out that we got more than we were asking for.  The tax credit was made non-repayable and raised to $8,000.  The loan limits were raised.  Interest rates are at historical lows and the TARP or whatever the new term for it has over $50 billion for foreclosure mitigation. 

I found President McMillan smart, professional, calm, and confident.  It made me proud to be represented by him.  Given the number of people’s opinions that I may influence, I sincerely appreciated his setting me straight in appreciating the strong support that the Federal legislation shows for our profession, Real Estate.
