11/21/08 Create Your Business A Strategic Business Plan for 2009
1. Choose your annual goals.
2. Calculate the number of sales required to achieve your annual goal.
3. Choose where those sales will come from. Predict the sources of those sales.
4. Decide what activities and campaigns will bring those sales.
5. Calendarize those activities and campaigns. (I may have coined that word, calendarize. It works.) Number five is to calendarize those activities and campaigns.
6. Decide what needs to be done between now and January 1st to prepare for those activities and campaigns.
7. Calendarize what needs to be done before January 1st.
8. Begin, immediately, your habit of taking five minutes a day and thirty minutes per week.
9. Go back to your annual goal and break it down into monthly goals.
10. If, by December 15th, you are not completely confident that your strategic plan will be complete and you will be ready, abbreviate it, condense it and get a condensed version complete by the first of the year.
11. Finally, arm yourself with motivational devices that will inspire you when you hit impasses.
