Get Control Now

I just wrote this in an e-mail to a client and I thought it was worth sharing.

“That’s the joy of our businesses.  Get control.  Raise the level.  Lose control.  Shore up and ensure profitability.  Get control…”

I was describing how as our company is growing a few things slip by.  E-mails take a little longer to return and then one costs you some business or disappoints a client.  A few phone calls take a little longer to return and then one costs you.

You catch a cold or the flu.  You have a accident that you suspect may have been caused by your being a little distracted.  You miss a family event.  You realize your child or parent, spouse or friend is missing you, possibly trying to get your attention with some less than positive behavior.

Then if you see these things for what they are you can shore up and take action.  Get control before it gets too costly.

I learned this only after many years of letting things get too costly.  I won’t go into detail.  Some things are lost forever.  Others have been recovered.

Now, I recognize those small slips for what they are and take action to put my life (and my business back in order).

Wisdom does come with age.  I hope some of the younger people who may read this… understand and take action now before it is to late.
