Children...

My older son is home for a bit.  We both love movies and just returned from seeing one together. It was great.  I've loved heroes and heroines since Superman, Sky King, The Rifleman, Wonder Woman, and Bionic Woman (I'm eager for the remake.).  That carried over to Ali, Billie Jean King, and those athletes who contributed to the world on top of dominating their game.
I wonder if many of you have learned a lot from your children.  My two boys are twenty five and twenty one.  My life is definitely better because they have held me to the standards I set for them. It was my younger son one day that said to me, Dad, what does your partner do for you, that is worth half of your business?  That conversation led to the end of that partnership.
My older son and I like a lot of the same things.  Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Steven Seagal as well as Bruce Willis, one day when he was in out of high school he said to me, you know that song Cat's Cradle, dad?  Sometimes that's the way I felt growing up.  If are not familiar with those words you can Google Harry Chapin's Cat's Cradle.  It's too painful for me to make it too easy for you.  I love him so much and am so glad he is open to keep teaching me to be a better dad and a better man.
