Act Two: No Goals or Unwritten Goals
I have to have my goals in writing. In fact I have to look at them regularly, like multiple times per week to keep my head completely in the game. So, if you didn’t create written goals leading into this year or during the year there is no time like the present. Hmmmm, present, it really is a present you give yourself to take the time to clarify your goals.
Written, measurable, time bounded goals are the keys to success. Many of my clients hit record numbers simply because for the first time in their careers they have goals that are clear and measurable.
This latter characteristic is vital. In addition to your goals being measurable on a long term basis they have to be measurable each week and each month so you can easily know if you are ahead, behind or on track.
One new client who sells over three hundred homes a year and has been working maniacally for a very long time is just learning how measurable goals that easily and clearly indicate where you are each week and each month; these kind of goals are the key to peace of mind and enjoying quality the life that is really the reason you are working so hard.
(They are also a catalyst to action, a motivator for those of you that would like to be working a little harder.)
